The first year home with my son was great but I wanted him to have more interaction with children his own age than I could find parenting groups to attend. One interesting thing is that while he was sick maybe twice the first year he stayed home with me, he's been sick at least 3 times since he started day care in September.

Holiday Fun

The holidays this year were the best I can remember in some time. They were also some of the busiest days I can remember as well. This time at least it was with family. Being a Stay at Home Dad has its benefits during the holiday season for sure. It started before thanksgiving going hunting and spending time with my Aunt and Uncle from Colorado where normally I only have had a brief 1 to 2 day stay with. Then during the Christmas Holidays we had family at our house and then went to spend New Years with my wife's family. New Years was a great Celebration as collectively we purch

Six Months Already

Its hard to believe its been six months already since my son was born. I still have friends and family ask "So when are you going to have another baby?". And though looking back I see that we have overcome many obsticles; like waking up every two hours to feed, and cholic, the amount of care and involvement necessary for a child is so overwhelming that the thought of having another at the moment seems somewhat of an impossability. I hear that mothers will tend to forget or be de-sensitized to birth pains and be ready again for a baby, but I wonder do stay at home dads forget the c

We Are Still Good People

I have heard many times people comment that the "end times are here…just look at the world is!" I have heard the comments towards our youth and how uneducated and disrespectful they are.
I view things in a slightly different perspective. Most of us "adults" have done "disrespectful" things in our youth. We all went through phases from the Indian wars to the World Wars. We have gone from Elvis Presley to Van Halen, from Hank Williams to Shania Twain.
Many generalizations of those who are different than the normal and those who aren't our age must obviously be inferior to our o

Fun Expression

As time goes by their begins to be more and newer types of interaction between my son and I. Feeding him foods has been a lot of fun and a lot of laughs! So so far green beans are going to take some work for him to get accustomed to. But in the meantime they sure make for some good pictures and laughs. He like eating oatmeal with me and is ambitious when it comes to apple sauce. :) Feeding a 5-6 month old is messy but a lot of fun, just as long as you are able to take your time with your baby and just enjoy this new experience with him.
