Loss Of 13 Ounces
Something that can scare any
parent, going to the
pediatrician and finding out your
son has loss 13 ounces! 4 days after the
birth we went to our first
pediatric visit and found out this news. The
doctor explained that this was like one of us losing 30 lbs in that timeframe. We were told to come back the next day for another weigh-in and that if he did not gain any weight our
son would go to the hospital. So we started using a
supplement as the
doctor suggested after
breast feeding to ensure our
baby would get enough to eat. The next day was very trying for us as we were both te...

My Son Is Here
Well once again this will be from a
father's prospective, so keep that in mind when reading this post on my sons
birth. My
wife woke me up around 430 on the 16th of June 2007 and said I'm having contractions so you might want to get up. A little tired I had to laugh at how calm she was but how timid and soft her voice was. So I asked if we needed to go or if I could shower. She said she was comfortable enough and felt we should wait till the contractions were more consistant. So we got ready for the day had breakfast and she then took a nap. Their wasn't too much need of panic ...

Three Inches Dilated
My
wife and I went to the
doctor last Wednesday the 30th of May, 2007 and the
doctor asked if my
wife had felt any contractions. The
doctor was surprised that she hadn't since she was already 3 inches dilated. We aren't due till the 24th of June but the
doctor expects that we could be a
Mom and
dad by the end of this week. So now panic sets in and I call my
Mom and she calls her
Mom to give them an update and to make arrangements for them to come visit at our house. My
Mom made sure to remind me that “your life will never be the same when you become
parents”.

No Training Wheels And A Ditch!
As a
child my
parents had my older brother help me to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels. My brother is about 4 years older than I am. So just up our street was a small hill, of course at my age this was everything but a “small hill”.
So with my
Mom and
dad watching from the kitchen window my brother began training. Off came my training wheels. So it started by trying to push me enough to get my momentum going, but that didn't work, down I fell. So the hill up the street provided an excellent way to get going right? Of course it did! But I sh...

Only 6 More Weeks!
A regular checkup with our
doctor and things are going well. I ask my
wife if she's starting to get nervous and she says no. I'm glad for her, however, with only 6 weeks left till she's due and the fact that the doctors hoping for the
baby to come a couple weeks early I'm beginning to feel a little nervous or anxious or both I'm not sure. So even though I put in my two weeks a couple months ago to get everything ready around the house, I have continued to stay on and work just a couple of days a week to help train the new manager. But today with me getting nervous and all I finally w...
