LIFE
We Are Still Good People

I view things in a slightly different perspective. Most of us "adults" have done "disrespectful" things in our youth. We all went through phases from the Indian wars to the World Wars. We have gone from Elvis Presley to Van Halen, from Hank Williams to Shania Twain.
Many generalizations of those who are different than the normal and those who aren't our age must obviously be inferior to our own generation. It isn't true. That's right. It's just a simple matter of perspective. We are all different just like everybody else! It's OK to be who we are and to love others that are not like us. That's what makes mankind above all other living things. We are individuals capable of originating a thought.
About two weeks ago I was at Wal-Mart with my daughter trying to zip through the store to get the weeks groceries. Everything went great until it came time for the bill paying process. Now, granted, the bill was probably too high, however that wasn't the problem. You see my wallet wasn't in my pocket.
I proceeded to attempt to find the lady who was in front of me at the checkout. I was almost certain she accidentally picked up my wallet off the miniature table where you sign your receipt. After a few minutes of scoping the parking lot, I had a feeling it was a lost cause.
After realizing that I had no way of paying for my groceries, I had also lost 200 bucks in cash! My cell phone rings, unrecognized number. I answer it hoping it was the lady in front of me with my wallet. She proceeds to tell me that she found my wallet and was still in Wally World. Unbelievable, I thought to myself! My life was in that wallet!
Turns out I wasn't the victim of someone accidentally picking up my wallet. It had fallen out of my back pocket near the other line I was in for a few minutes.
I want to again thank this person profusely for her integrity. Once again my faith has been restored in mankind, and maybe, just maybe, the world won't come to an end for the next few days, anyway!
There are good people out there all over the place. Poor, rich, different race, different age, dressing classy or dressing like a head-banger; most of us are good people with honest and sincere intentions to do right. Let's not give up hope just yet; some still love their neighbors!
